This is available as a single-bike kit but, currently, we have the Saris add-on just to show you what it'll look like if you wanted to expand this carrier. This is designed for inch and a quarter and two-inch hitches. We're taking a look at how it fits here on our 2023 Tesla Model Y. So the first thing with this is it does take up less space compared to some of your other two-bike platform racks. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at how the Saris MHS Bike and Cargo Kit fits on a 2023 Kia Seltos. We are focusing on how this specific kit and system works with this specific car. Now, the main thing though with a Seltos is I really like this combination just because it expands my cargo space and allows me to carry around the bike. But it's important that you have a two inch hitch receiver and that you're very conscious of the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle, because while this whole system has a total weight capacity of up to 195 pounds, your hitch weight capacity may be less, so just double check that (engine revving) before you load your cargo up. Technically, the basket has 160 pound weight capacity and the bike rack has a 35 pound weight capacity. more

This is gonna be one of my preferred kits because it allows you to carry around your bike of different shapes and sizes, but also carry around some cargo, and you have the fun adjustability of the MHS base. This is the 2+1 base with these accessories. Now, one really cool thing about this too is that when you tilt this whole system away, you are still able to open up your tailgate. Hi, Matt with etrailer. And today, we're talking about our kit, which is going to include our Saris MHS One Plus One Base and our UNO Tray with it. Now this is going to be a kit where you can find it on our website and we have the individual parts. You can also check out their webpages and their videos, but today, we're going to be focusing on how they work together. So how this kit's going to work together is your base is going to be the foundation of our system today and we're going to have this collar that wraps around it so we can secure our UNO carrier. Now, our UNO tray is going to have a weight capacity of up to 40 pounds and if you want to put something on in the add-on location of our base carrier, then that's going to have a capacity hold up to 35 pounds. more

Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we have the Saris MHS Bike Rack for three bikes with the UNO trays. And we're gonna take a look at how it fits here on our 2023 Kia Seltos. If you're familiar with the MHS, it's a modular hitch system where you can get different trays and different add-ons, and you can mix and match to find the best fit for whatever you're carrying. In our case here, these are gonna be the three UNO trays, which are gonna be the more lightweight, but still versatile trays. As for how the system fits on the Seltos, well, you can carry around a lot of things, but you do lose out on some features just because of how low the Seltos is to the ground. more

Hi, it's Evangeline here at ETrailer. Today we have an interesting kit we're gonna take a look at, great for those that wanna go cycling but still carry around their cargo. We are going to have a kit consisting of the MHS base, which is a modular system, and we have the cargo basket, and the UNO add-on bike rack, combined together as a full set for your adventures. We're gonna take a look at some of the features of this specific kit, and that way you can decide if this is gonna be great for your own journeys. The Saris MHS is a modular system where you can mix and match different accessories for different adventures and different situations. This specific kit is not gonna be for everyone, but a great example of why you might be interested in this is, I like to go on weekend camping trips, escape for the weekend, just go out to a campground, This is a setup I would use, because then I can pack my gear, and my bike, and I don't have to worry about anything else. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Hyundai Tucson- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 base on our 2023 Hyundai Tucson. So when you take a look at the NV 2.0, you notice that it secures your bike by the wheels 'cause it is a wheel-mounted carrier, and that's gonna work for the person that's looking for a bike carrier that's not gonna make contact with their frame. So if you have a carbon fiber frame or a bike with a special paint job, step through unconventional frame, any one of those things, this is gonna be what you want to go for for the best, secure fit. And then on the rear, you're gonna have a single strap that goes between your spokes and keeps everything stable and connected on the very rear. At the end of our cradle here, you also have your included cable lock to secure your bike to the carrier itself. Overall with Kuat, as far as where they land with quality, I would say that they're on the higher, better, more refined, more premium end. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Hyundai Tucson- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're gonna take a look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE on the back of a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. So the Sport Rider is a frame-mounted bike carrier, so that means you're gonna have contact with the upper frame and it's also gonna secure your bike using straps with the loops on the front and rear wheel. Essentially what that's gonna do for you is, it's gonna stabilize your bike, but it does make contact with the frame. So if you have a bike that's a carbon fiber frame or something with a nice paint job or maybe even an unconventional frame bike, this may not be the best option. You might wanna look towards a wheel mount. However, on the back of our Tucson, this is gonna work pretty well, and we're gonna take a little bit closer look at some of the features by removing the bike from the carrier. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Kuat Transfer V2 3-Bike Rack. This is gonna be an open-design platform rack that we will take a look at here on our 2023 Chevrolet Equinox. The Kuat Transfer is gonna be the entry-level rack in the Kuat line where you don't pay as much as you would for a Sherpa or an NV, but you still get these solid Kuat features. One of those features is tilting away. So if you want something that makes it slightly a bit easier to tilt away, then if you have just one bike loaded, like what we have here, you can actually step into the rack, step on this lever, and then drop your bike rack down to a tilt. more

It's gonna be a pretty solid option if you're looking to carry bikes on both your passenger vehicle, as well as some different trailer combinations like motorhomes, fifth wheels, or travel trailers. Now, as far as weight capacity goes, it's gonna have a 45 pound capacity per bike, so not the best option for e-bikes, but it can handle some heavier mountain bikes or gravel bikes if you've got those. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2024 Kia Niro PHEV- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination four, and we're taking a look at how it fits here on our 2024 Kia Niro. The Destination four is one of my favorite bike racks because it is so affordable, but still offers amazing features that even pricier racks don't sometimes offer. This has a lot of versatility for types of bikes, but my favorite part about it is how lightweight and compact it is, even with the ability to carry around four bikes. Now, the downside to this rack is that this does not tilt down, which is a bummer because the Niro's hatch door is so short that most bike racks that tilt away give you so much hatch access, and you can get into your cargo area, but at this price point, that's just gonna be something you're gonna have to give up for the ability to carry on a lot of bikes. So what types of bikes can you carry Well, this does have a maximum weight capacity of 35 pounds per bike, which is most lighter mountain bike and road bikes. This does have a angle to the cradles, which mean your different wheel bases are fine. more

You have a weight capacity of 70 pounds per bike plus you have a ramp included with this rack, which makes it extra helpful to load and unload those heavier bikes. Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2024 Kia Niro PHEV- Video
Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at the Kuat Transfer V2 3-Bike Platform Rack, we're seeing how it fits here on our 2024 Kia Niro. The Kuat Transfer is really popular, because of its unique goalpost design. This is gonna be Kuat's entry-level bike rack that gives you that stability of a platform rack, but also not as pricey as, let's say their Kuat Sherpa or their Kuat NV. Something that's usually a downside for a Transfer, but not in the case of our Niro, is that usually doesn't tilt down far enough to get hatch access. But because the Niro's hatch is rather on the small size for the door and because of how this is shaped, we actually get plenty of clearance, well, not plenty, but decent clearance to lower down our bike rack and then open up our hatch. more

So the MHS is gonna be a modular system, that's what MHS stands for, and our specific kit here has the three DUO trays. We have the DUO trays just because these are gonna be our heavy duty, heavy weight capacity, and versatile trays that are able to carry bikes of different shapes and sizes. So if you need to carry around your heavy electric bikes, the DUO tray is what you're going to want to get. Now, the first two trays are gonna have a weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike, but then your further out trays are gonna have lesser weight capacity. So 35 pounds for this third tray. more

Because you have a lot of stability of the rack, meaning that your bikes are gonna be transported safely and securely, but also because of how it's designed, it can carry bikes to different shapes and sizes. You also have all the premium features you would expect from a Kuat rack, like how this tilts away and folds up to you nice and compact. RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Dodge Durango- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline right here at etrailer, and today, we're gonna be taking a look at how the RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Out Bike Rack fits on the 2021 Dodge Durango. So the AfterParty is gonna be a dual-wheel mount rack with a high weight capacity for heavy electric bikes. It's pretty much the same as the RockyMounts Guide Rail, but it has an extra feature which is that this can swing out towards the passenger side. Now some things on the Durango, especially with this hitch receiver, is that this is gonna have a lot of height compared to other bike racks. So if you do have a 60-pound bike, that's something you have to consider is that you have to lift that up and onto this rack. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Dodge Durango- Video
Hey there, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Inno Tire Hold HD two bike platform rack for your heavy electric bikes and we'll see how it fits here on our 2021 Dodge Durango. So the HD is gonna be really good for those heavy bikes with a weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike. Awesome, very impressive. Now for a Durango though, there are some things you're gonna have to consider with this vehicle. The first one is that it's gonna be really high up off the ground, so I highly recommend grabbing the Inno Tire Hold ramp that's sold separately, add-on accessory that instead of having to lift the bikes up and onto the rack, you can then just ramp them down. The second thing is that your tilt away functions you do lose out on with this car. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Kia Seltos SAR35MR- Video
Hi, everyone, I'm Evangeline here at etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Saris MHS 3-bike kit, and we'll see how it fits on the 2023 Kia Seltos. Right off the bat, I'd have to say that this isn't the best fit for the Seltos with the Seltos being a smaller SUV and this bike rack being a super heavy-duty bike rack. Now, this does have the capacity to carry around two 80 pound bikes as well as a 35 pound bike at the very end. But your Seltos may or may not be able to carry that much weight, so please double check your tongue weight capacity of your hitch before loading up your bikes. It's still worth taking a look at, because I like this bike rack kit with how sturdy it is compared to other dual wheel mount bike racks. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Newmar Bay Star Motorhome- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Saris MHS two bike rack, which is gonna be the two plus one base and the two duo trays and we'll see how it all fits here on our 2019 Newmar Bay Star motor home. The MHS is probably one of my favorite motor home bike racks because you still have that 80 pound weight capacity and you have that dual wheel mount design and it's motor home compatible, meaning it does, it is designed to have that extra strength and durability to handle the extra stress of being so far away from the rear axle. Now with a Bay Star motor home though, there are some unique things that you are gonna have to consider when carrying those extra heavy electric bikes. The main thing is it sits up very high up off the ground, so if you wanna take advantage of the 80 pound weight capacity that's also 80 pounds that you're lifting this high up. Another thing is that you do have a ladder behind your motor home and that may cause a little bit of fitment issues. For example, we we inchesre not able to tilt up this rack into the compact position, but behind a motor home it usually doesn't matter. more

Now this is going to be a bike rack capable of fitting on a lot of different types of vehicles, not only our RAV4, but it's rated to be used on motor homes, fifth wheels, travel trailers. So if you maybe did have a second vehicle that was towing a trailer that you also wanted to use this bike rack with, you could. But personally, if you're just putting it on the RAV4, I think there are some better options out there and we'll talk about that a bit later. You can make that decision for yourself. more

So let's take some quick measurements just to show you how much space you have. So measuring from the bumper to the end of the rack, I have it at 44 inches of length. So this is gonna be the updated design for the Swagman E-Spec where you have a higher weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike and you have the ability to use this with the ramp and bridge add-on sold separately. In the case of the Toyota Highlander, because of how high this sits, I actually recommend taking a look at that add-on for your extra heavy electric bikes. So let's talk about things like that. When you look at bike racks, you wanna consider if this gives you access to your hatch, things like that. In the case of the E-Spec, it's a lot more fixed compared to your other bike racks. more

So the Tire Hold HD is gonna be your dual wheel mount rack, which means that there's zero frame contact. Plus, something unique to this is its extra high weight capacity of 80 pounds for your bikes. Now, for your total, try not to go over 150 pounds, and then have your heaviest bike towards your Highlander. Now, when focusing on the Highlander though, there are some different things when it comes to the fit, like how this does not tilt down far enough in order to open up your hatch, and depending on your hitch receiver, you may or may not be able to use the anti-rattle bolt. more

Now we do have a mountain bike with some longer handlebars, but as you can see, if you're on a bumpy road, you're gonna be likely to make contact with that back window. Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Chevrolet Spark- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we have the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 bike platform rack. We're taking a look at how it fits on the 2020 Chevrolet Spark. So for the Spark, you do have limited options for bike racks because of your inch and a quarter hitch receiver, but that's okay because the SuperClamp EX still has that 60 pound per bike weight capacity, plus a lot of versatility for bikes of different shapes and sizes because of the dual wheel mount clamps. The downside to this bike rack is it is gonna be a bit wobbly. Adding that to your inch and a quarter hitch receiver, you will experience a lot of movement on the road. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Kia Seltos- Video
Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at how the Inno Tire Hold HD Bike Rack fits the 2023 Kia Seltos. Right off of the bat, the Inno Tire Hold HD is what you'd be looking at if you want something that has a super high weight capacity for heavy electric bikes, but also has that dual wheel mount style to make it much easier to carry those bikes. The downside for how this fits on the car though is it doesn't tilt down far enough to open up the hatch if you have mountain bikes. So that is something to be mindful and we'll talk about in this video. But the perks are is that it sits low enough to the ground to make it a lot easier to load and unload those bikes. more
